BIOGRAPHIE AND PHOTOGRAFIC TOUR
BIOGRAPHIE
I am, or perhaps I was, a Catalan who lived my youth in Madrid and who, to complete the cardinal points, studied in Barcelona, Galicia and Seville. I had a house in Poland, when I was an eccentricity and I felt the consequences of a romantic nationalism that ended or silenced Tatars, Ukrainians, Germans and Jews in 40 years, turning what was one of the most interesting spaces in Europe into a national state, I lived for periods in Toulouse visiting libraries and making plans that I no longer remember because these years I am more focused on America, doing what too few Spaniards have done, discovering it
Like all Spaniards I like rain and music which is almost the same, history, astronomy, photography, the sea and boats, I practice less and less diving with which one day I accumulate adventures and dreams and I have gone out to paddle in my touring kayak with which I have been able to descend the Ebro, that gave its name to Iberia, from García to the sea, or to put it another way, after fifty I still like to dream.
Being my training mainly in letters, I discovered numbers late, but like all autumn loves I feel lost now if my calculator fails me.
My favorite periods are the Renaissance in the Catholic monarchy, which is the name that great Spain had and the nineteenth century in central Europe, although if I had to choose I would choose the court of the young Queen Isabella of Castile; my characters are Boethius in Ravenna, the clever and gray Tribonian of sixth-century Constantinople and the Weber of his early years.
Formation
Because I like to elaborate the reasons why I studied law between the University of Tarragona and UNED, perhaps too long ago, I accumulated some postgraduate degrees in urban planning, local law, management and auditing of public administrations, and I still like it. I have followed with little use, some photography and photo editing courses.
I speak a few languages.
PHOTOGRAPHIC TOUR
I cannot remember myself without the sometimes sterile and sometimes absurd effort to represent the hidden essence of the world; initially tempting the career of Fine Arts to learn to say what lies beyond words and later, surely seduced like many others by the laziness of drawing, pursuing the capture of images by unusual methods such as heliographic paper or cyanotype to finally set up a rudimentary photographic studio that grew, mutating and accompanying me until it becomes my best instrument to reveal what is present without being seen and cannot be said with words, my blind man's cane, my letter of introduction and my way of moving through life trying an elusive lucidity that I pursue wanting to escape from the empty death of the idiot.
I have therefore been taking photos almost since I can and within my photographic archive that the wind has not been able to disperse there are images that initially wanted to capture the essence that Minor White or Ansel Adams pursued and that evolved over the years after the cleaning of the style of who was my best mentor, Jaume Duch, or Verena Von Gagern, whose disturbing and clean photos I have always pursued trying the impossible of combining the crystalline and suggestive of her vision and her technique with the poetry of Sergio Larraín with whom I have come to feel deeply identified in the search for the elusive sum of technical perfection and the beating of a heart.
